Student / Temporary Hire Process

  1. Request Job to post on Handshake
    • Title
    • Description
    • Pay Rate
    • Classification Type (Student Assistants, Student Leader, Temporary, Work Study etc.) (Complete Form).
  2. Review resumes, Interview and Select Candidate
  3. Managers complete a New Hire Personnel Form with detailed information of the selected candidate.
  4. Candidate receives an email from IIT HR to complete supplemental documents
  5. Candidate receives an email from Equifax to complete hiring documents
  6. Candidate will receive an email to give consent for Background Check
  7. Wait for at least 2 weeks for Candidate data to be processed in OneUSG

Graduate Assistant Hire Process

  1. Request Job to post on Handshake
    • Title
    • Description
    • Stipend Amount
    • Classification Type (Student Assistants, Student Leader, Temporary etc.) (Form)
  2. Review resumes, interview, and select candidate
  3. For each candidate, managers must submit the GA Personnel Action Form AND PF2-A Form to IIT HR.
  4. Candidate receives an email from IIT HR to complete supplemental documents
  5. Candidate receives an email from Equifax to complete hiring documents
  6. Candidate will receive an email to give consent for Background Check
  7. Wait at least 2 weeks for candidate data to be processed in OneUSG

Termination Guidelines for Students & Temporary Workers:

  1. Managers submit a termination request to IIT-HR.
    • Must include reason for termination (i.e Graduation, Resign, etc.)
    • Must include the employee last day worked (05/8/19) (Form).
